Alyssa Dan and Juliana Hsing
The rowers who started it all

DC National Rowing Club began it’s journey in 2010 as a Winston Churchill High School rowing club – Churchill Crew.  Two students, Alyssa Dan and Juliana Hsing, both 2012 graduates, founded Churchill Crew to share their love of the sport with their classmates. With one boat and plenty of hard work, the team began rowing out of Bladensburg Waterfront Park. Through the years, the club expanded both fleet and members. Building on Alyssa’s and Juliana’s legacy, Montgomery Boat Club was formed in 2015 as a way to include other schools from the area with no rowing programs of their own. In 2019, the decision was made to rebrand the club and move to Riley’s Lock in Potomac. The transformation is complete and we are now proudly called DC National Rowing Club.
